Check Out the Parade of Homes

Last week, my wife and I toured through a few of the Parade of Homes and were blown away at some of the amazing work that has been done by home builders in the state of Utah.

If you haven't ever been, let me be the first to tell you that it's 100% worth it. It doesn't matter if you're just going for fun, looking to build a home, or getting ideas for renovations and decorations: the Parade of Homes is the place to be.

While walking through these newly built works of art, I was able to see new layouts, new ideas, and innovative designs that could become a staple in the housing world in the near future.

Some of our favorite features included a retractable glass wall that opened the kitchen and living room to the back yard. The way that this feature brought the outside and inside of the home together was breathtaking, and it made the house look bigger and more inviting than it actually was.

Another favorite feature included a room of cubby-like sleeping areas for a group of grandkids. This room had eight cubby holes built into the walls, each with a twin sized bed and plenty of room for a fun family sleepover at grandma and grandpa's house.

The stadium seating theatre room with working popcorn and drink bars were mind blowing. Most of these rooms included individual reclining chairs with drink holders for a night of watching the big game or catching a movie. Some theatre rooms scrapped the individual chairs for large couches and maximum comfort. Both options would be amazing for a cozy night at home, or the worlds greatest Super Bowl Party.

Lastly, the landscaping. The outside structure was immaculate and each home had it's own flare of heaven. One home included a pool with a rock formation waterslide that began near a hot tub on a higher platform and ended in the pool below. Another home had a putting green and basketball court for the sports enthusiasts, and the final home that we saw included a forest of trees, plenty of shaded grass, a pool, and serene ambiance of peaceful seclusion.
