Fall is officially here! Leaves are changing color, mornings are a bit more brisk, the sun is starting to go down earlier, the smell of pumpkin spice flavoring seems to be entering the air at a more rapid rate each time you leave the house, and Halloween is just around the corner.

This section of time between summer and the dreaded winter months is where we get our last bit of warm weather before the snow hits the ground, and our last chance to do outside activities before bundling up becomes a necessity.

Lets say you've moved into a home, or are looking to move into a home in the near future. What kinds of activities are around that could entertain you and the family during the Autumn months?

Here are some of my wife and I's favorite things to do in Utah during autumn time. Hopefully it'll give you ideas of fun things to do with your family that are close to your home!

1. Halloween Sundance Ski Lift

The ski lift at Sundance ski resort is an hour long journey from the base of the lift, to the top of the mountain, and back. Throughout the summertime, it's filled with amazing views, slight breezes, and an opportunity to let your daily anxieties flow from off your back. During the fall time though, you will find the workers in costume trying to scare you, fun halloween props, and a chance to get excited for the late October holiday.

2. Cornbelly's

Cornbelly's is a family friendly fair that takes place at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. There are fun rides, activities, mazes, shops, and even a haunted house within its gates. Cornbelly's is a great time to get out, have some fun, and be a part of one of Utah's largest Halloween fairs.

3. Football games

Whether you're a Utes fan like me, or you support the Cougars, Aggies, Badgers, Thunderbirds, Wildcats, or Trailblazers: there's sure to be a football game worth going to where you can cheer on your team to victory.

4. Pumpkin Patches

Wandering around a pumpkin patch is one of my wife's favorite things to do during fall time. She loves to see which pumpkins are available and would be good for carving, and she loves the photo opportunities and environment that they provide. Sometimes, if you can find the right pumpkin patches, there may even be activities for the kids to enjoy as well

5. Halloween Activities

There are many activities throughout the state that provide enjoyable times and fun scares during the Halloween season. Haunted Houses are a local favorite, and attract many thrill seeking people each year. Pumpkin carving is always a fun time, especially when you're making memories with family and friends. Scary Movies might cause sleepless nights, but they're sure fun while you're watching them. And lastly, costume finding and decorations. Who doesn't like to get dressed up and have fun during the holiday?

6. The Alpine Loop

As the leaves are changing color and the air is turning more crisp, there is nothing better than taking a drive through the Alpine loop. This loop is famous for its picturesque views and natural mountainous beauty. The trees paint the sky with vibrant reds, greens, and golds, and the calming journey is perfect for a Sunday afternoon drive.

This is more of a fun article that didn't have a ton to do with houses, but, if you're looking to get into a home before the winter months hit, please feel free to reach out! I'd love to help you get your home financed!
