Have you ever looked back and asked yourself, "Why didn't I buy a house two years ago?" Let me be the first to tell you that you're not the only one asking that question. Especially lately.

The good news is that now is as good of a time as ever to jump into the excitement of becoming a homeowner.

According to the financial guru Dave Ramsey, "Right now is the best time to buy a house in the next five years. And here's why: prices are not gonna go down...They're going to go up slower, but they're not going to go down. And so, five years from today, houses are going to be more expensive...So, this is the best price right now if you're gonna buy a house...If interest rates come back down, refinance. Don't not buy waiting on interest rates to come down."

Investing in home ownership is important for many reasons, one of the main reasons though, is building equity and net worth. One of the most common things we've seen throughout time is that when a person invests in home ownership, they can look back five years down the road and see that the value of their home has increased.

According to simplifyingthemarket.com the average homeowner's equity increased by an average of $64,000 nationally, and $92,000 in the state of Utah in the past year. With professionals guessing that home prices will continue to increase over the next five years, who wouldn't want these types of gains?

Dave Ramsey is right, plan on home prices increasing, and if rates come down, refinance. Now is as good as time as ever to purchase a home, and if history has anything to say about it, there will be a financial benefit for you when it comes time to sell.
