New Years day is a time to reminisce about years past and re-evaluate for the upcoming year ahead. What a great time to set some resolutions and goals to strive for in 2023.
Why not use one of those goals for purchasing or refinancing a home? Right now, rates are slowly but surely creeping downwards, and home prices are lower than they've been in the past year. What an exciting time to be in the house hunting market!
If your goal is to purchase a home during the next 365 days, it's a smart idea to set a budget and start saving some money to put towards a down payment. There are many options available to buyers right now including 2/1 buydowns among other things that can help you get into a home. Make sure to ask about different housing perks and what they entail, as well as speaking with a loan officer about your custom fit to a specific loan program.
What about refinancing? Honestly, I think that there is going to be a big refinance boom in 2023. Myself, along with other loan officers and economists foresee rates going down after rates skyrocketed this past year. Keep your eye on them, and check in from time to time to see where rates are at. By refinancing, you could be saving yourself hundreds of dollars each month. If that is something you'd like to check into, let me know!
