Utah is one of the most unique and underrated states in the entire United States. It includes all four seasons, amazing sunsets, vast array of recreational activities, entertainment options, rich religious history, National Parks, and mountain ranges that combine the jagged edges of the Rockies and Wasatch, and the sandy shelves of the Southern Utah Hematite Red Rock. What makes Utah amazing in my eyes, is the people. The people in Utah are commonly known to be kind, welcoming, inclusive, and understanding. Utah is recognized across the country as one of the safest and best places to live (Worldpopulationreview.com, theHill.com, wallethub.com, usnews.com). In this series, "Why Utah?" I'll explore why Utah is a great place for you and your family to live.

Next up: Central Utah

Central Utah is known for its open spaces, farmland, and hard working people. Central Utah's weather includes all four seasons, but it is most well known for having extreme winters with snow and icy temperatures. It's also known for having some of the most beautiful autumn views across the state. With leaves changing and valley's hidden between mountain ranges, it's picturesque landscape wins the hearts of many people from all over the world. The mid-section of Utah is severely underrated and provides beauty from the depths of its valley's to the peaks of its mountaintops.

Central Utah is filled with different things to keep you and your family entertained. If you're a fan of being in the outdoors, riding four wheelers, motorcycles, and other recreational vehicles. Central Utah is for you. The vast mountain regions also include great places to hike, mountain bike, camp, view wildlife, and take in beautiful nature. One of my favorite activities to do in central Utah is to hike the Maple Canyon slot canyons. Maple Canyon can be found near Moroni, Utah. Another fun activity in Central Utah is the Dugway Geode Beds that are found in northern Juab county. Finding these geodes can be fun for the whole family, and it's not too far from Utah's west desert. Each town in Central Utah has it's own activities that are a blast to be a part of. Parades on the 4th and 24th of July, movie theatres, museums, bowling alley's, and local restaurants make these small towns a great place to live.

Central Utah includes two of the states junior colleges with Snow College (Ephraim, UT), and Utah State Eastern (Price, UT). Both are amazing schools with a close-knit atmosphere. Class sizes are small, professors are friendly, friends are easy to make, and everyone that attends these schools is family. The surrounding communities love their hometown schools and support them in every way possible. K-12 schools are also an important part of these Central Utah communities. The teachers are all local, and the support from the surrounding towns are second to none.

Many of the job opportunities in Central Utah come from local farms. Turkey's, sheep, livestock, fish, fruits, and vegetables are some of the many things these farms produce. Central Utah also has many small local businesses that provide job opportunities for those that live in the surrounding towns. From hospitals, to restaurants, to tech companies, to real estate, to retail shops, automotive shops, hardware stores, and national park employment. There's opportunities for many interests and jobs in these Central Utah towns.

Religions, a sense of community, and safety, can all be found in Central Utah. The most common religion throughout the state is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and that is no different in Central Utah. There are other religions available in these small towns that range from Christianity to Islam. People in Central Utah are known for their hard work and kindness. It's easy to feel safe while you reside in these areas knowing that everyone is watching out for everyone. The friends you make while living in these little towns are friends for life. There is a strong sense of community and inclusivity throughout Central Utah.
